Big Brother series 1 was the first season of Big Brother UK.
The series ran from 14 July to 15 September 2000 and it was presented by Davina McCall.
The Big Brother 1 house was located in Bow, London near to the 3 Mills Studios.
There were 11 series 1 contestants in this season.

Andy Davidson was evicted in Week 3.
He gained 68% of the vote to leave the house against Caroline in the public vote.
After Big Brother, Andrew returned to his successful career in marketing.
He worked at MTV and with a number of top brands.
He is currently Head of Client Strategy at a company based in London.
Andrew was a presenter on Channel 5’s entertainment show Exclusive.
He released single ‘Randy Rap’ and now has three children.
Anna Nolan came second place in the final.
She came second with 49% of the vote to win, losing out to Craig by just 2% of the vote.
After Big Brother, Anna has forged a successful career in both TV and radio.
She was also a journalist and columnist for various newspapers and websites.
She appeared in the BBC’s Anna in Wonderland and Closure.
Anna hosted The Great Irish Bakeoff and is also an Executive Producer on TV projects.
For three years Anna co-hosted The Afternoon Show on radio station RTÉ One.
She split with long term girlfriend Dearbhla Walsh in 2014.
Anna was invited back to the BB house for a challenge during Ultimate Big Brother.
She is a close friend of Davina McCall.
Caroline O’Shea was evicted in week 4.
She gained 62% of the vote to leave the house against Tom in the public vote.
After Big Brother, Caroline went back to her previous role, selling adult toys.
She aimed to launch a music career but was unable to get a record label to sign her.
Caroline appeared in a task in Ultimate Big Brother in 2010 and on a The Weakest Link Big Brother special.
She also appeared on Towie in 2016 as a dating expert.
Claire Strutton was evicted in week 7.
She gained 79% of the vote to leave the house against Craig in the public vote.
After Big Brother, Claire was in a relationship with fellow BB1 housemate Tom.
They had a child together and moved to Spain.
They were together for two years before they split up.
She presented Dance 2000, appeared on reality show The Salon and modelled underwear for Playtex.
Claire has since remarried and owns a luxury beach resort in Marbella.
She has opened a number of bars in Essex.
Craig Phillips was the Big Brother 1 winner.
He won with 51% of the vote, against Anna in the Big Brother 1 final.
After Big Brother, Craig gave all of his £70,000 prize money to family friend Joanne Harris for a heart and lung transplant.
Within a week, he had raised the remaining £250,000 that was needed for the operations.
Joanne sadly passed away in 2008.
He has been on hundreds of television shows over the years.
Craig has had his own DIY Television shows including 60 Minute Makeover from 2007 to 2009.
He released Christmas single “At This Time of Year”, which got to number 14 in the UK singles chart.
It raised over £40,000 for the Down’s Syndrome Association.
In 2009, he released his autobiography and has re-entered the BB house many times for tasks.
Craig owns a property investment firm, a television production company Avent Productions.
He can also be hired to talk at corporate events.
Craig continues to raise money for charities including Downs Syndrome charities.
He has raised well over £500,000 through various fundraising efforts.
Craig has made an estimated £7,000,000 since leaving the house.
In 2018, he spoke up about it being time for Big Brother to finally end.
He married Laura Sheriff in 2018 and they have two children.
Darren Ramsay finished third in the final.
He came third with 13% of the vote against Anna and Craig.
After Big Brother, Darren hoped to launch a career in television.
He presented Good Food Live on UK Food and was a host on This Morning.
Darren trained as an flight attendant for ‘Airline’, where he was asked to leave.
He also appeared on The Weakest Link on a special Reality TV stars episode.
Darren was due to go on a Christian charity mission to Jamaica but was unable to go due to illness.
Darren currently works for a research company.
He has not ruled out a return to TV.
Melanie Hill was evicted in week 8.
She was evicted with 69% of the vote to leave the house against Craig and Darren in the public vote.
After Big Brother, Mel presented two series of Chained on E4.
She wrote numerous articles and magazine columns on Big Brother including for the Guardian.
She took part in a charity football match for the NSPCC and appeared in the Big Brother Pantomime.
Mel dated Alex from Big Brother 3 for three years before they split.
They had joint custody of their dog.
She studied to become a barrister before leaving to go travelling and later worked in marketing.
Mel has a son Otis with boyfriend Glenn.
Nichola Holt was evicted in week 5.
She was evicted with 72% of the vote to leave the house against Craig in the public vote.
After the Big Brother house, Nichola was briefly in a relationship with Sada for a couple of months.
Whilst drinking heavily at a celebrity party, she accidentally sent Vanessa Feltz flying to the ground.
Nichola was working as an escort and appeared in a number of adult movies.
Nichola tried her hand at being a pop star and released single “The Game”, which reached number 72 in the charts.
She was briefly married to personal trainer Yas Parr, who she married in Mexico.
She is now single and living in Bolton with her daughter.
Nick Bateman was removed from the house in week 5.
He was found to have a pencil and paper in his luggage that he had used to influence votes..
After Big Brother, Nick is estimated to have made over £500,000.
He has made many appearances in TV and theatre including the Big Brother Pantomime and presenting TV show Trust Me.
Nick is a writer, he wrote Nasty Nick: How to be a Right B*****d and a column for The Sun newspaper.
He was writing for The Good Holiday Guide Magazine and later became Editor at Large.
Nick married Lynette in 2007 but they separated and divorced in 2016.
Nick returned for Ultimate Big Brother in 2010.
He came in 5th place with 5.27% of the public vote to win.
He now lives in Australia with his partner Carol after moving there in 2013.
Nick currently works in television production and runs a marketing business.
Sada Wilkington was evicted in week 1.
She was eliminated with 55% of the vote to leave the house against Caroline in the public vote.
After Big Brother, Sada was in a relationship with fellow contestant Nichola Holt for two months.
She got a £10,000 from a Shampoo advert deal with Yahoo! and a car from appearing in a car advert.
Sada co-wrote a dating book The Babe’s Bible.
She also trained as a Yoga Instructor.
She later moved to Argentina, where she married Argentinian musician Sat Man Swara.
Sada changed her name to Guru Amrit Dev.
Tom McDermott was evicted in week 6.
He was eliminated with 30% of the vote to leave the house against Anna, Craig and Darren in the public vote.
After Big Brother, Tom and Claire became the first ever Big Brother couple.
Tom did a number of nightclub PAs and travelled the country.
Tom and Claire had a baby boy together and moved to Marbella, where they ran a property website before they split up in 2004.
Tom currently lives in Cornwall, where he owns a property company.
He has since remarried and remains good friends with Claire, who did the flowers at his wedding.
